KONI launches new KONI | H&R TrackDay Kit at Tuningworld Bodensee

    4/27/2017

OUD-BEIJERLAND, The Netherlands – Tuning World Bodensee (28 April – 1 May) is the biggest tuning show in Europe. Therefore it’s only natural for KONI to be there to launch the new KONI | H&R TrackDay Kit for Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, SEAT and Volkswagen models.

Tuning World Bodensee was started in 2003 and has since developed into the most influential tuning event in Europe. Every year a great many tuning clubs, car manufacturers and parts suppliers descent on the Messe Friedrichshafen in Friedrichshafen, Germany. Among them is KONI. And this year the world leader in adjustable shock absorbers is bringing something very special: the KONI | H&R TrackDay Kit.
It will become available for a wide range of Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, SEAT and Volkswagen models and has been developed from racing technology. In fact the KONI | H&R TrackDay Kit is based on Formula 1 damper tech that KONI launched in the early 2000’s and is still being used in the current GP2, GP3, Formula 3 and GT series. The kit features a damper and spring set for sporty road use, which can also be adjusted to be used on track.
The central element in the TrackDay Kit is the valve preloaded port system, which, over the years, has been recognized as a very solid basis for the best handling and tuning. The TrackDay Kit provides an up-side-down mono tube McPherson configuration, which allows a very high side load, combined with a very solid damper setup.
The TrackDay Kit offers eight externally adjustable positions in both rebound and bump, all marked by distinct clicks to assure that each port can only be either open or closed. This offers a broad range of 64 predefined damping curves, each providing a noticeable and repeatable damper curve change.
Initially the KONI | H&R TrackDay Kit will be available for an extensive selection of Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, SEAT and Volkswagen models. The price of the kit varies per application, but will be around € 2,700, excluding VAT. An overview of local distribution partners – that also provide information on country-specific consumer prices – is available in the KONI distributor locator.
