OUD-BEIJERLAND, The Netherlands, November 9th, 2016 – At this week’s Professional MotorSport World Expo (November 9-11 2016) in Cologne, KONI and H&R will jointly launch a new and advanced TrackDay Kit. The KONI | H&R TrackDay Kit will be developed for a wide range of Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, SEAT and Volkswagen models and combines proven F1 technology with well-balanced suspension performance for road and track.
The KONI | H&R TrackDay Kit is based on F1 damper technology that KONI launched in the early 2000’s and is currently still being used in GP2, GP3, Formula 3 and GT Series. The kit features a complete damper and spring set for standard road use, but more specifically to have an optimum handling on the race track. A central element in the TrackDay Kit is a valve preloaded port system. This valve system has been recognized over the years as a very solid basis for optimum handling and tuning. As part of the new TrackDay Kit, KONI is now introducing this technology even further into applications for track day use. Intended for models with either a strut suspension or a standard coil-over layout, KONI and H&R provide an up-side-down configuration of a mono tube damper. This structure allows a very high side load, combined with a very solid damper setup.
The wide range of 64 predefined damping curves allows the use of several spring rates for multiple track and road conditions. Eight adjustment positions are available for the TrackDay Kit in both rebound as well as bump, which are all easily adjustable and felt by distinct stops, or clicks, to assure that each port can only be either open or closed. Each of these positions will give a noticeable and repeatable damper curve change.
KONI will initially develop the new TrackDay Kit for a wide range of Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, SEAT and Volkswagen models. The price of the kit varies per individual application and will be around € 2,700 excluding VAT. An overview of local distribution partners – that also provide information on country-specific consumer prices – is available in the distributor locator.
At the 2016 Professional MotorSport World Expo KONI is located in Hall 10.1 on stand 4018.
