Although a large percentage of KONI products are for the replacement market, an increasing percentage of shock absorbers are purchased by car manufacturers as original equipment all over the world. Especially when supplying to the major manufacturers, quality control is of vital importance. KONI is certified to the highest standard available in automotive, like ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001.

As KONI aims for the best performance and not necessarily the most economic solution, the products can be found on cars in the top end of the automotive segment, supplying cars like the Lamborghini Diablo, Chrysler Viper, etc. Generally those manufacturers putting emphasis on handling of the car. In many of those cases KONI is directly involved in the final ride and handling tests to come up with a tailor made damper for that specific Original Equipment application.
