Operation

The dampers to be tested are mounted to the machine by means of the upper and lower mounting mechanisms on the test beam.

The upper mounting mechanism has two positions. Position A for short dampers and position B for longer dampers. By turning the spindle of the lower mounting mechanism, the machine can be easily adjusted to the exact damper length. Special adapter tools are available to enable mounting of various attachment geometries.

When the correct damper type is chosen in the menu, the software will automatically select the appropriate test cycle. Such a test cycle consists of a range in- and outward movements with various speeds including tolerance band.

After indication of the operator, the machine will perform the test at the first defined test speed. Again after indication of the operator, the test cycle will continue with the next test speed, until the complete test cycle has been performed.
At each individual test speed the system will compare the result with the defined tolerance band, and provides one of the following indications: OK, Low or High. This enables the operator to adjust the damper back into its tolerance band when required.

Finally the monitor will show the resulting test diagram for the complete test cycle, that includes an overall Good or Fail indication of the tested damper. This diagram can be printed or saved for later reference.

In case of an emergency, the emergency stop will disconnect the power supply and the machine will stop immediately.

Installation
The machine must be placed on a hard surface in level position. After connecting the power supply and the control electronics cables the machine is ready for use.

Documentation
The machine will be supplied with an operation manual and a copy of various standard OEM documentation.
