For some applications a position-dependent damper is required with a fixed variation of forces.
A special construction reduces the rebound force within a particular area of the overall stroke length. The position of the piston in the pressure tube determines whether the force is high or low. The characteristically long KONI service-life remains unaffected.
For air-sprung vehicles this construction means extra comfort. For vehicles with leaf springs it can be the right compromise, when the difference between unloaded and fully loaded is too great for a conventional damper.
Position-dependent dampers in this catalogue can be recognized by the sign.
